School Counselor

The role of a grade school counselor is to help create a safe and supportive environment that allows students to thrive both academically and personally.

This is accomplished through:

  • Supporting all students in academic, career, and social/emotional development.
  • Delivering counseling services through individual sessions, small group sessions and in-class lessons.
  • Working collaboratively with students, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff to help students achieve success.
  • Handling crisis interventions as needed.

Ms. Linder

School Psychologist

The role of a School Psychologist is to foster the academic, emotional, and social development of students. They work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment that addresses the diverse needs of all students.

This is accomplished through:

  • Providing individual and group counseling.
  • Conducting psychological assessments to identify students’ learning, behavioral, and emotional needs.
  • Working collaboratively with students, families, staff, and outside providers to develop and implement intervention strategies to support students’ mental health and academic performance.
  • Provide immediate support and intervention during crises.

School Social Worker

The role of a school social worker is to act as a link between school, home, and community.  In addition, the school social worker assists with the social, emotional and behavioral needs of students within an educational setting.

This is accomplished through:

  • Providing individual and group counseling with a focus on conflict resolution, active listening, problem solving, coping skills and more.
  • Assisting with crisis intervention and peer mediation for the school at large.
  • Connecting families to local community resources (i.e. food/housing insecurity, medical needs, and more).
